The main comments I see against this device are 'just use your phone' but the problem is that your phone isn't always on and easy to use while driving. It makes it so you don't have to touch your phone while driving and instead can mount and use the Car Thing which has an always on screen and easy to use buttons. It might still be useful even if you have that new stuff though. Car Thing is mainly made for older cars that don't have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
